She was born on October 18, 1929 in Corsicana, Texas.
Wilma Linder met the love of her life, Archie Linder, in Cayuga, Texas. Archie and Wilma became one in marriage on November 29th, 1947, in Corsicana, Texas. Together, they reared two sons, James Linder and Dale Linder, and two daughters, Leila Sowell and Vicki Roberts. Wilma cherished every moment she spent with her family, from the least exciting moments of life, to the most hectic. While she believed that any time spent with family was a good time, she especially loved playing board games. Although Wilma never was tied to a particular church, she was dedicated to her spiritual life. She was well known to read from her daily bible quote book and recited the quotes within it often. Even though she loved her bible and enjoyed reading from it, her favorite stories within it involved angels and she surrounded herself with the imagery of angels throughout her life.
Wilma is preceded in death by her parents, Melvin Turner and Jeswell (Holliefield) Turner, and her son, James Melvin Linder.
Wilma is survived by her husband, Archie Linder, her son Dale Linder, her daughters Leila Sowell and husband Marion Self, Vicki Roberts and husband Frank Cox, granddaughters, Nancy Phillips, Mary Ann Bigham and husband Reggie Bigham, Theresa Green and husband Kelvin Green, Leslie Hayes and husband Kennith Hayes, Vanessa Wilhite and husband Wyman Wilhite, grandsons, Rodney and Tonya Simpson, Richard Sowell Jr. and Amanda Sowell, James Keith Linder, Roger Hernandez, David Linder and wife Amy Linder, Bubba Sanchez, William Linder, 36 great-grandchildren, and 17 great-great-grandchildren.
