Memorial Service for William Wilson, 75, of Nacogdoches will be at 11:00am on Saturday, April 18, 2026 at Westside Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Jerry Wilson officiating.
Mr. Wilson passed away on Friday, April 10, 2026. He was born on June 8, 1950.
William was a man of his own kind who loved his family and his country. But most importantly, he loved his Savior. Being raised by a pastor, William gave his life to Jesus at an early age. His parents, Nina and James ensured all their boys were taught the one objective in life…salvation.
William was born and raised in East Texas, spent his childhood with his brothers (doing what boys do), learned life lessons from his parents (and a few on his own) and in 1973, when he was 22 years old, he began a lifelong dedication to The United States Air Force. He was stationed in many places, including England, The Philippines, Thailand and stateside in Colorado and Ohio. He retired after 18 years of service, only to return as a civil employee of The United States Government in the IT industry, where he remained until his full retirement in 2020.
William found interest in many things. He loved reading, music and helping others. He was constantly involved in any benefit that helped the community and was loyal to his bands of brothers as a Mason and member of the American Legion. He was a member of The Eastern Star and Free Mason Riders. He appreciated all things related to history, from reading about it to reenacting with his black powder guns.
In 1985, he was blessed with the title of Dad. Victoria brought such great happiness to him and this was just a tiny bit of what he felt for her. Watching her grow into the accomplished young woman she is brought a great deal of pride to William and he loved her dearly.
In 2009 while he was working in San Antonio, he met Imelda. She brought immense joy to his life and 10 years later, they were married. They have made lots of memories over the past 17 years as they traveled the United States and rode their motorcycle as much as time allowed.
Though Williams’s life was filled with wonderful people, great adventures, service to his country and love beyond measure of his family, his greatest accomplishment was his surrender to Jesus Christ.
William is survived by his wife, Imelda De Los Santos Wilson; daughter, Victoria Wilson & husband Robert Hemingway and children, Eddy De Los Santos & wife Nicole, Eric De Los Santos & wife Andrea and Erin Delos Santos-Poovey & husband Justin; brothers, Howard Wilson & wife Judy, Johnny Wilson & wife Terianne and Jerry Wilson & wife Debbie; 7 grandchildren, Evan, Elle, Emma, Jace, Ryan, Brinley and Norah and numerous nieces and nephews who held a special place in his heart.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Nina Murrell Wilson; sister-in-law, Patricia Wilson.
