William Paul Kolb

William Paul Kolb, 74 of Nacogdoches, passed away Tuesday, Janurary 24, 2023 in Nacogdoches, TX.

Graveside service for Paul will be at 2:00 pm Friday, Janurary 27, 2023 at Sunset Memorial Park.

Visitation for Mr. Kolb will be from 5:00-7:00 pm Thursday, Janurary 26, 2023 at Laird Funeral Home.

Paul was born and raised in Nacogdoches where he enjoyed playing baseball in high school.  In his early years, he worked with the family business, Kolb Excavating, and then later retired from Elliott Electric.  He was a wonderful father and always had a positive outlook on life which he tried to instill in those around him.  He never tried to force his opinions on those around him, but offered sound advice that he hoped would benefit those he loved.  He was a devout Cowboy’s fan, win or lose, and could often be found cheering them on when they took the field.  He also enjoyed frequenting the casinos in Shreveport, again with that same outlook, win or lose.  Paul enjoyed reading and the last few years, he began watching church on TV and posting scriptures on social media.  He loved his son and daughter-in-law, grandchildren, and great granddaughter.  His love for his family prompted him to start a college fund for Austin and Alyssa.

Paul is survived by his son, Shane Kolb and wife Melanie; brothers, David Kolb and wife Ann, James Kolb and wife Liz; grandchildren, Austin Kolb, Alyssa Kolb; and great-grandchild, Everleigh Segura.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Cleveland and Doris Kolb.

Serving as honorary pallbearers are Austin Kolb, Brad Kolb, Hunter Kolb, Blake Kolb, and Johnny Robinson.
