William Richard King passed away on August 10, 2025, at the age of 75. Richard was born in Nacogdoches, Texas, on October 11, 1949, to Martin L King and Nona King. He attended Nacogdoches High School, graduating with the Class of 1968.
Richard enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his friends and family. His greatest passion was officiating football games—a commitment he dedicated 49 years of his life to, earning the respect and admiration of players, coaches, and fellow officials alike.
He is survived by his son, Michael King of Dallas, and his daughter, Ellie O’Leary of Delhi, California. He is also survived by his daughter-in-law, Donna King; his son-in-law, Scott O’Leary; and three beloved grandchildren: Connor, Cade, and Cameron.
A graveside service will be held at Oakgrove Cemetery on August 20, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of a life lived with dedication, kindness, and love.
Serving as Pallbearers are Ken Floyd, Jim Head, Herb Ashley, Cooper Castleberry, Steven Wright and Gary Galyon.
