Visitation for William Paul Holt, 86, of Woden will be held from 5-7pm on Tuesday November 21, 2023 at Laird Funeral Home.
William Paul Holt, affectionately known as “Bro. Paul”, 86, of Woden, Texas, went to see Jesus face to face on November 20, 2023 in Nacogdoches, Texas. He was born in Nacogdoches, Texas to Georgia Lee Goins and James Alton Holt on December 16, 1936. He attended school in Woden and Nacogdoches, and left from there to join the United States Air Force. He worked as a painter/carpenter for many years. He enjoyed listening to anointed preaching, reading spiritually edifying books, and witnessing to everyone he came across. He was a prayer warrior in every sense of the word! His main goal in life was to reach the lost and he absolutely made it his mission to win souls. And what a soulwinner he was! He was a vital member and pillar of the Woden United Pentecostal Church, and a mighty man of God. The extent of his reach won’t be fully known and can’t be measured until we all reach Heaven, but truly, so many of us would not be where we are today without him. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and the true definition of a soldier in the army of the Lord.
He is survived by his oldest daughter, Sheila Ballard, and husband Sam Ballard; his only son, William Paul Holt, Jr. (Bill), and his favorite daughter in love, Sandy Holt, all of Woden, Texas. He is also survived by his nine grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren.
Bro. Paul is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbara Holt, and his first wife and mother of his children, Geneva Holt, his youngest daughter, Dena Lampin, his brother, James Holt, his sister, Dot Kaechle, his father, James A. Holt, and his mother, Georgia Holt.
His heart’s greatest desire was for all his loved ones and everyone who crossed his path to have the revelation of true salvation, live for God, and meet him in Heaven one day. Until then, we’ll take comfort in knowing He’ll be “somewhere around the throne”…
