Veronica "Roni" Jernigan

Veronica Jernigan, 49 of Nacogdoches, passed away Tuesday, March 28, 2023 in Nacogdoches, TX.

Funeral Service for Veronica will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at Laird Funeral.

Interment will follow the service at Fairview Cemetery with Brother Sonny Scarborough officiating.

Visitation for Mrs. Jernigan will be 5:00-7:00 Monday, April 3, 2023 at Laird Funeral Home.

Veronica, or “Roni” as most knew her, grew up in Central Heights where she attended school and was active on the softball team.  She met her loving husband through mutual friends and married him on September 3, 1993; they enjoined 29 years together as husband and wife.  Veronica, or “Skeeter” as she was also known, enjoyed cooking, riding four wheelers, the lake, volleyball, and of course softball.  She also loved spending time with her family, especially her grandbabies whom she referred to as her “ray of sunlight” and who called her “Ninny”.  She was a kind-hearted woman who never held a grudge but instead loved to laugh.  She would encourage anyone to follow their heart.

Veronica is survived by her husband, Arthur Jernigan; daughter, Taylor Munn and husband Michael; son, Colton Jernigan; father, Robert Deason; brother, Bobby Deason and wife Theresa; grandchildren, Weston Munn, Luke Munn, and Grayson Munn.

She is preceded in death by her mother Donna Deason.
