Jean was a godly woman who made sure Christ was at the center of her life.  She taught her children and grandchildren the love He had for them and spent many years as a church fellowship leader.  She made many friends during her times at East Main Church of Christ and Woden Church of Christ.  She was very dedicated to praying for anyone who needed it and loved hearing of the grace God showed them.  She was a comforter and supporter to everyone around her and she would always be there if someone needed her.  She was also very patriotic and loved our country.  She enjoyed being a part of The Disabled American Veteran’s Auxiliary and was honored to serve a term as their President as well as District Commander.  Her dedication to others was extraordinary and something she passed along to her children.  Jean was extremely proud to be a mom to all of her kids.  They made her life special and she was happiest when everyone was with her.  Having grandchildren was a highlight to her.  And when they had children, her heart was overjoyed knowing her legacy would carry on for many years to come.

Jean’s life was full of love, mostly because she taught others how to love.  She was notorious for letting her closest people know how much they meant to her.  Her wishes and dreams of having a large family who stuck beside each other was shown to her and she knew her “cup runneth over”.

Jean is survived by her children, Robert Bortz, Jr. and wife, Donna, Michael Bortz and wife, Heather, Bo Scott and wife, Anita, Annette Scott, Billy Scott, Jr. and Mary Scott; Grandchildren, Nicole Bortz, Christopher Bortz, Michael Bortz, II and wife, Maddy, Ben Bortz, Kevin Martin and husband, Coy, Nick Oliver and wife, Megan, Brittany White and husband, Luke, Timothy Grace, Jake Scott, Billy Dale Scott III and Nathan Scott; great-grandchildren, Wyatt Bortz, Kaedyn Nelson, Jayleigh White and Colt Baumbach; twin sister, Joyce Flowers; and life-long friend and sister-in-heart, Ms. Ruby.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Billy Dale Scott, granddaughter, Marissa Scott, parents, Paul and Willie Hill; and siblings, Sam Hill, Robert Hill and Myrtel Williams.

Her grandsons will proudly serve as pallbearers.
