Mrs. Hasley passed away on Friday, January 2, 2026 in The Woodlands. She was born on February 1, 1948 in Jacksonville, Texas.
Most people do what they love when they have time. Tommie Jo did what she loved for a living. From a very young age, right beside her mama, she began building her life and didn’t even know it. She learned the floral industry and all the intricate details of floral design and when she was old enough, she took the reigns from her dad and made her dreams come true. She ran Avenue Flower Shop from the time she could memorize the address and loved every minute of it. With Carolyn by her side, they made beautiful things for the happy times, the sad times, celebrations and just because. She lived doing what she loved.
Tommie Jo was born in Jacksonville, Texas the daughter of Cecil and Ruby Lee Wells. She met and married Wilton Hasley and they raised their two children, Terri and Scott. Tommie Jo loved them both dearly and without limitations. When they had their families, she loved them all with her whole heart and oh the joy that grandchildren brought her. Although Tommie was dedicated to her work, her family was always her number one priority. She was very involved in the community and enjoyed her participation in The Eastern Star, Altrusa Club, Nacogdoches Business and Professional Women and was a proud Rainbow Girl. Each year at Christmas, as the downtown Christmas Celebration ensued, she was right there to spread her joy through florals and be a blessing to others in her favorite season of the year. Tommie Jo was also a member of First Baptist Church. In her recent years, she also thoroughly enjoyed her time spent “volunteering” at Nacogdoches Treatment Center. She looked forward to spending days with her newfound friends and made many memories with them. They were such a blessing to her.
Tommie Jo is survived by her children, Terri Hasley Khan and Scott Hasley & wife Karen; grandchildren, Tyler Khan & wife Sydney, Morgan Hasley, Chris Hasley & wife Shelby and Cole Hasley; great grandchildren, Raylee Hasley and Aurora Khan; sister, Ruby A.
