Sydney Earl Alvers, 88, of Nacogdoches passed away on Friday, August 1, 2025 in Nacogdoches, Texas. He was born on March 16, 1937 in Galveston County, Texas to William and Gertrude (Powers) Alvers.
He is survived be his sons, Syd Alvers (Eleanor) of Atascadero, CA, Terry Alvers of Nacogdoches, TX, daughter Shelley Hanna (Keith) of Chireno, TX, step-sons, Christopher Traylor of Melrose, TX, Richard Traylor (Denise) of Austin, TX, Eric Traylor (Shelly) of Burnet, TX., grand-son Wesley Hanna, step grand-daughters Christy St Clair (Tim), Caitlin Cook (Tristen), Sarah Traylor-Robinson (Sam) and 6 step great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by his brothers Richard Alvers (Sandy) of Hitchcock, TX, Michael Alvers of FL, sisters Irene Nelson (Bill) of Santa Fe, TX and Karen Carnley (Dan) of Santa Fe, TX and numerous nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents as well as his brother Chester Alvers and wife, Bessie "Lulu" Alvers.
A memorial celebration is planned for Sunday, October 19th at his farm.
