Stephen Cody Williams

Funeral service for Stephen Cody Williams, 36, of Nacogdoches will be held at 2pm on Monday, March 13, 2023 at Laird Funeral Home.  Interment will follow at Bethel Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 5-7pm on Sunday, March 12, 2023 at Laird Funeral Home.

Mr, Williams passed away on Monday, March 6, 2023 in Nacogdoches.  He was born on October 23, 1986 in Nacogdoches.

Stephen had a love for sports from a very young age. He played baseball and football up through his high school years (including playing in the 2003 football state championship game and bringing home the trophy). Stephen also found a love for cooking and became a great cook. He especially loved to grill steaks, ribs, and brisket. We used to tease him that a cow didn’t stand a chance around him because he would throw it on the grill. For relaxation after a hard days work, Stephen would often play a video game or watch a movie from his vast collection. Stephen was a simple man, a big teddy bear and will be missed by all who knew him.

Stephen is survived by his parents, Ira Jr. and Brenda Williams of Appleby, Tx; brother, Randy Williams and wife Monica of Central Heights, Brad Williams and wife Samantha of Chireno, Tx; nephews Brantley, Easton, Blayne, Mason, and Hardyn Williams and his only niece Mayci Williams. Stephen didn’t have any children of his own but he loved his niece and nephews as his own. Stephen is also survived by his paternal grandparents Ira Sr. and Johnette Williams and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Stephen was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Alfred and Lerline White.

Serving as pall bearers will be his close friends Paul Karow and Matt Barrett. His cousins Chaston Moore, Chris White, Craig White, and Kirk White.
