Sheri Lynn Vanderheyden was born September 16, 1964 to John & Penny Vanderheyden in San Diego California. She was educated and graduated from Christian High School in El Cajon in the Class of 1983.

Sheri enjoyed the sports swimming and track along with Drama and Banner & Flag Corp of Christian High Band. Sheri had always aimed at being a teacher and achieved her Associates Degree in Childhood Education she became a preschool teacher at Christian Unified Schools.

Sheri was involved in ministry in the Scott Memorial Baptist Church College Youth Group - it was here that she met her husband to be, David Bazley, in 1985. Their paths diverged for 3 years as Sheri honed her teaching skills and David was employed doing demonstration sales at State Fairs. In late 1988, God’s Providence brought them back together, and they finally realized that they desired to be married. They were joined together on a warm summer day, August 12, 1989 in Sheri's parents back yard surrounded by over a hundred of close friends & family.

Sheri assisted their home-based business but aspired to be a mother more than anything. In 1994, Sheri gave birth to their first child, Kaylee Ann. Thrilled with the joys and challenged of family life, they then had Connor Alan in 1996. Sheri took to motherhood with all her energy and love. At this same time, they moved to the High Desert of Anza California and built a rural ranch / farmstead. To this busy life, God prospered them and added three more children, Kara Lynn – born 2001, Emma Lynn – born 2003, and Abby Lynn – born 2004. Sheri also gained a degree from The School of Natural Healing as a Family Herbalist to better care for their growing health needs.

David and Sheri and their 5 children moved from Anza, California to Nacogdoches, Texas in 2007 to better achieve their goals as a family. Sheri's goal was to superintend a household where God's Word and Ways were both modeled and taught to our 5 children – and in that she was wildly successful – but gave all Glory to Jesus Christ for His Special care in this undertaking – and became a blessing and inspiration to many other families.

Sheri truly lived out Proverbs 3:5-6: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. Her favorite scripture was Psalm 34: ”I will bless the Lord at all times; his praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul makes its boast in the Lord; let the humble hear and be glad. Oh, magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together! I sought the Lord, and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears. Those who look to him are radiant, and their faces shall never be ashamed.”

Sheri was involved in the Nacogdoches area Christian Home Educators and attended regularly with her family most recently at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Nacogdoches. Sheri was first diagnosed with breast and liver cancer in summer of 2020, and waged a brave battle against it using natural protocols for nearly a year, before succumbing on May 31, 2021 at home surrounded by her parents, her sister Linda, and all her children and husband.

Sheri is survived by all her children, her husband David, her parents, John and Penny Vanderheyden, and her 2 sisters Linda & Julie.

Sheri was dearly loved by all her family & all who knew her and is now healed 100% and in the presence of Jesus Christ her LORD.

“Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.” - Proverbs 31:30
