Ronnie E. Deitz passed away on July 30, 2021, in Henderson, Texas. He was born on May 12, 1947, in Nacogdoches, Texas to Paul and Jewel Deitz. Ronnie grew up in Nacogdoches County where he graduated from Central Heights High School.
After high school, Ronnie joined the United States Air Force where he bravely fought for his country and family’s freedom. Ronnie was a lively man who always had a joke to tell and a kind heart to anyone he met. He was always ready to drink a beer with his friends at the “Shack” and listen to country music and dance. He loved spending time with his family and friends and playing games, such as dominoes, solitaire, bingo, and gambling. When he had time to relax, Ronnie would watch old western movies or football, or he would read the newspaper. Due to his large stature and gentle demeanor, Ronnie was often known as “Big”, “Large”, “Gentle Giant”, and “Cowboy”. Of all the things Ronnie will be remembered by, it’ll be his kind heart and love for his family and friends.
Ronnie is survived by his son, Kenny Parsons; brother, Robert “Bubba” Deitz and wife, Karen; Sister, Dianne Ludlow and husband, Richard; niece, Kacee Summers and husband, Jay; nephews, Paul-Robert Deitz, and Michael Ludlow and wife, Jenn; great nieces and nephews, Alyx Deitz and wife, Brook, Rion Deitz, Kaylah Deitz, Kallie Summers, Jaxsen Ludlow, Tucker Ludlow, and Kyndal Ludlow; and many wonderful friends.
Ronnie is preceded in death by his mother, Jewel McCuistion Deitz; and father, Paul B. Deitz.
Ronnie’s favorite scripture is John 3:16: For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
