Ronald Hollyfieldq Obituary

Ronald Dee “Ron” Hollyfield, 77, passed away on March 3, 2026, in Lufkin, Texas.

Ron was born on September 23, 1948, in Galena Park, Texas, to Dee and Earnestine Hollyfield. He spent his early years between Galena Park and Poway, California, graduating from Poway High School before attending Stephen F. Austin State University.

In 1967, he married Christine Joeleen (Martin) Hollyfield, known as Chris. They spent decades together until her passing in 2013. During that time, they built their family through the adoption of their two sons, Matthew and Nathan, and worked side by side in building their business.

Ron served in the Vietnam War as a Fixed Wing Mechanic and achieved the rank of E5, Buck Sergeant. His military service was a defining chapter of his early adulthood and reflected his discipline and work ethic.

That same approach carried through the rest of his life. He worked as an accountant at Faultless Casters and later owned and operated Lanana Cleaners. In his later years, he worked at Brookshire Brothers, not out of necessity, but because he was the kind of person who kept working. Ron approached his work with consistency and responsibility, values that remained constant throughout his life.

He was a man of routine and independence. Those who knew him would describe him as hardworking, quiet, and reserved. He was not expressive, but he showed up in the ways that mattered, providing for his family and maintaining a steady presence through the years.

Ron enjoyed fishing and valued time spent doing what he knew and loved. He was most at ease in simple moments, away from noise and attention.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dee and Earnestine Hollyfield, and his wife, Chris Hollyfield.

He is survived by his sons, Matthew Hollyfield and his wife Jessica, and Nathan Hollyfield and his wife Samantha; his grandchildren, Reagan Hollyfield, Summer Hollyfield, Lexi Casper, Kaycie Chesnut, Bridget Chesnut, Mason Chesnut, and Kylian Hollyfield; and his sister, Dona Wilson.

Ron previously attended the Church of the Nazarene.

He will be remembered as a man who lived life on his own terms, steady in his ways, and committed to his responsibilities.
