Mr. Coale passed away on Thursday, July 13, 2017 in Nacogdoches. He was born on March 21, 1924, the son of Mr. Simeon Woodrow Coale and Mrs. Jennie May Bailey Coale.
Robert grew up in Mulga, Alabama. He joined the United States Air Force at a very young age and proudly served his country for over 30 years. His duty to The United States of America cultivated into his love of flying. He owned a small plane and took every chance he had to fly around the country. His passion for flying lasted through the years, and he never grew tired of the views and the happiness he felt while in the air. Robert dedicated his life to The Air Force and served in over 60 combat missions during WWII. He loved his country and knew his calling was to serve in the USAF.
During his 5th grade year, he met a young lady, Louise, and the two developed a great friendship. Over the years, that friendship matured into true love. Robert and Louise discussed marriage before he left for the service, however, Robert could not fathom the thought of something happening during wartime and him leaving Louise as a young widow. She understood, however, as soon as he returned to the United States, the two were married on May 27, 1945, thus beginning their blissful 72 years together. If there was ever a picture to be taken of love, it would surely include Robert and Louise. They enjoyed spending time together and reveled in all the memories they made over the years. They had two daughters and Robert was ever so proud of them and the life they lived. His family was of utmost importance to him, ranging from his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, to his extended family and friends. Robert was very dedicated to his Lord and Savior, and in doing so, he was humbled to serve as a deacon at each and every church he and Louise belonged to. They most recently were members of The First Baptist Church in Nacogdoches, Texas.
In his retirement, Robert took his lovely bride and moved to Nacogdoches to be close to family. They loved the rural areas of East Texas and enjoyed being in the Pineywoods. They also spent time traveling and thoroughly enjoyed going to the WWII Unit reunions, where he was able to spend time with his friends that he developed during his military career. He was also a member of various pilot clubs.
He is survived by his loving wife, Louise Coale; daughters: Donna Louise Weaver and husband, Alan J. Weaver (Ret. Lt. Col USAF), Dr. Karen Sue Migl and husband, Dr. Donald R. Migl; grandchildren: Jason Weaver and Ryan Weaver, Christopher Migl and wife, Laura, Derek Migl and wife, Kristie, Monica Migl Neumann and husband, Jeffery; great grandchildren: Mallory Migl, Lilly Migl, and Adalyn Neumann, along with other extended family.
