Randy Price Obituary

Randy C. Price, 75, of Nacogdoches, TX, transcended into glory on February 25, 2025. His broken body was made whole again as he met his Lord and Savior on the streets of gold. Randy loved listening to his favorite hymns on YouTube. He would often have over fifty tabs open on his computer and would share a list of his favorite hymns with his friends. Hours before his passing, Randy listened to "Amazing Grace," "Be Thou My Vision," and "It is Well with My Soul." "How Great Thou Art" was one of Randy's favorite hymns, and the joy filling his heart now is more than we can measure here on earth.

Randy was born on August 13, 1949, in Nacogdoches to Travis and Carolyn Price. As an only child, he spent his time keeping his parents on their toes with his mischievous antics and adventures. His parents often joked that they did not think they could manage another blessing like him. In high school, Randy enjoyed playing sports and was the quarterback of the Nacogdoches Dragons football team. He also played basketball and was the star pitcher of the baseball team. A good friend from high school remembers him pitching a no-hitter against Jacksonville his senior year.

While attending SFA, he met and fell in love with Kathryn Ann Hadden of Dallas. They married in 1971. Randy later graduated with a degree in Business. Soon after that, their first daughter, Jennifer Hadden Price DeKerlegand, was born. A few years later their second daughter, Heather Hadden Price, was born. Randy worked selling insurance for Mass Mutual and Integrated Financial Group. Later, he became a financial advisor.

As he and Kathy raised their girls, they took numerous vacations that created lifelong memories their family will always treasure. Randy loved finding the perfect sunrise and sunset when the family went on vacations to the beach. He would often have a chair in the trunk of the car to pull out when he found just the right spot. Randy loved spending his Saturdays in the kitchen making gazpacho and blasting songs from "Phantom of the Opera" from the speakers.

Surviving are his daughter and son-in-law Jennifer and Dirk DeKerlegand, daughter Heather Price and granddaughters Kendall Hatcher and Grace DeKerlegand of Snohomish, Washington, and Emma Johnson of Nacogdoches, as well as his great granddaughters Piper and Eden Hatcher of Snohomish, Washington. Preceding him in death were his beloved wife Kathryn Hadden Price and parents Travis Price and Carolyn Price Bright.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Scholarship Fund at Regents Academy of Nacogdoches, the alma mater of Randy and Kathy's granddaughters.

"For I know that my Redeemer lives,

and at the last he will stand upon the earth.

And after my skin has been thus destroyed,

yet in my flesh I shall see God,

whom I shall see for myself,

and my eyes shall behold, and not another.

My heart faints within me!"
