If you knew Randy Godsey, you undoubtedly loved him. He was honest and kind, hardworking and dedicated to those he held dear. He was, as most described him, a “good ol’ boy”. Randy never met a stranger and would strike up conversations with everyone he met. He truly loved people and found something in common with each person he spoke to. He was the epitome of what a man should be. He took care of his wonderful wife and was always there when people needed him but expected nothing in return. His life began and ended at his favorite spot in Nacogdoches…his farm, where he has spent his entire life. Randy was a true outdoorsman, spending an unsurmountable amount of time in the woods hunting or working in the pastures and on his farm. He was also a member of the Milam Masonic Lodge where he served as Master Mason.
Randy was a hard worker and devoted over 35 years to Nibco, where he was still employed. He gained many friends there that were considered family. Of course, if you were a friend to Randy, you automatically were thought of as family. And sometimes, his jokester side came out and no one was off limits! He loved picking on people.
Later in life, Randy and Judy, the light of his life and wife for over 11 years, took great pleasure in traveling together. Although Randy could not swim at all, they found their most enjoyable places were on the beaches and beautiful waters. These times and so many more that was spent with his family, friends, coworkers and others will forever be cherished.
Randy is survived by his best friend and wife, Judy Godsey; son, Josh Godsey; children, Tiffany Cooper & husband Clint and Blake Halliburton; grandson, Logan Taylor; brother, Andy Godsey & wife Glenda; as well as a multitude of other family members and dear friends that he loved dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ellwyn “Dusty” and Lessie Godsey and grandson Ryan Taylor.
Serving as pallbearers will be Sid Pierce, Kyle Morris, Jonathan Adams, Juan Natividad, Steve Phillips, Eric Chacon, Rex Chandler and Greg Madden.
