Ramiro Mendez-Hernandez

Funeral services for Ramiro Mendez-Hernandez, 51, of Chireno, will be held at 2pm, on July 10th, at Laird Funeral Home with Pastor Saenz, officiating. Internment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.

Visitation will be held from 5pm to 7 pm on July 9th at Laird Funeral Home.

Mr. Hernandez passed away on June 28th, 2023, in Chireno, Texas. He was born on May 16th, 1972, in Veracruz, Mexico.

Ram was the first of five children born on May 16, 1972, to Nicasio Ruiz and Hilda Hernandez Vasconsuelos. First and foremost, Ram loved the Lord. He enjoyed fishing, baseball (Go Astros!), gardening, and guns.

He is preceded by his son Eliezer Mendez, father Nicasio Ruiz, step-father Nicolas Mendez, and maternal and paternal grandparents.

He is survived by his wife Miriam Hernandez Duran, children; Stephen, Sarah, and Rebeca Mendez, stepchildren; Dominic and Breanna Duran, sisters; Esther, Cleotilde, Guadalupe, and Virginia Ruiz, brothers; Cruz Ruiz Alaciel, Saul Ruiz Alaciel, Gregorio Mendez, Benjamin Mendez, and Moises Mendez.

He was a hard-working, dedicated, and self-employed man. He was a man of many talents, a perfectionist in everything he did, and lived every day to the fullest. After surviving COVID and being given a second chance at life, he appreciated the little things in everyday life. He is a true example of perseverance. He will be deeply missed and forever in our hearts.
