Phillip L. Carney

Phillip L. Carney passed from this earth to his heavenly Father on April 2nd, 2022. Phillip was born December 12th, 1941 to Nelson Davis Carney and Della Mae Martin in Liberty Hill, Tx. Phillip and Sheila Carney celebrated 55 years of marriage on March 31st. They have two children and two grandchildren. A son, Stanton Carney of Nacogdoches, and a granddaughter, Gabby Carney. A daughter, Ashley Carney Davis of Encinitas, Ca., and grandson Noah Davis. Phillip took great pride in his grandchildren. There were six siblings in his family: he is survived by one brother, W.G. Carney, and two sisters, Barbara LaLena and Sharon Sue White, along with a brother-in-law, Carroll White, and a sister-in-law, Tommye Carney. Two brothers have passed: Ronald Carney and Gary Carney, both of Nacogdoches. Phillip is also survived by Sheila's siblings: Debra Brasher Alexander, Tanya Lynn Alexander, and a brother-in-law Dale Alexander. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews he loved dearly. Phillip was a member of North Street Church of Christ. He will be remembered most for his kind ways, his huge smile, and as a Peacemaker. His presence will be missed by all!  His family is planning a memorial service for family and close friends to be held at North Street Church of Christ on Saturday, April 23rd, 2022 at 12 Noon with Minister Jay Alexander officiating. In lieu of flowers, a Sympathy Card of remembrance would be appreciated.
