Patsy (Hammock) Witten

Patsy Witten passed away on September 5, 2023 at the age of 81 following a short battle with Multiple Myeloma.  She was born in Hemphill, TX on February 4, 1942 and graduated from Hemphill High School.  She married Darrell Witten in January 1962 and they had two children, Kena and Kenny. 

Patsy loved to travel.  Her favorite vacation spots were the beach or the mountains.  She took her children on many vacations through the years to both of those locations. She loved seeing the fall leaves change colors and also loved spring when the azaleas are blooming.  She also spent many years traveling the country with her husband who was a truck driver.

Patsy was biological mom to two children but she was a second mom to many more.  She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and their friends. She was always available to listen and to offer advice, even if you didn’t want to hear it! Her home was always open to friends and her bonus children when needed. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend and will forever be missed by them all.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Darrell Witten; daughter Kena Totsch of Granbury, TX and her husband, Ricky Totsch; son Kenny Witten of West Monroe, LA, and his wife, Jessica Witten; grandchildren Vivian Bivens, Autumn Witten, Shelby Weaver and Riley Kate Weaver.

She is preceded in death by her father, Kenny Hammock, and mother, Rossie Hammock.

A celebration of Patsy’s life will be held on September 23, 2023 at the Banita Ballroom at the Fredonia Hotel from 4 to 7 p.m.
