Graveside service for Patsy Ruth Wade Ferguson, 80, formerly of Martinsville, will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at Little’s Chapel Cemetery with Pastor Bo Baker officiating. Mrs. Ferguson passed away on Saturday, November 22, 2025 in Sugarland, Texas. She was born on April 5, 1945, the daughter of Delmar Franklin and Eula Johnson Wade.
Patsy spent her childhood in Shreveport, Louisiana and graduated from Fair Park High School in 1963. She then went to nursing school in 1964 and spent the next 40+ years doing exactly what she loved….caring for others. During this time, she met the absolute love of her life in 1968. She and Kenneth Ferguson were married the same year and began building their life and family. In the early 90’s, they made their way to Chireno, Texas and Patsy became the school nurse at Martinsville ISD where she remained until her retirement. Kenneth and Patys’s story stretched out over a beautiful 57 years and was one filled with love, laughter, growth and adventures which were all a big part of building the life she always dreamed of. The bond she and Kenneth shared reached beyond a simple marriage. They were best friends and completely devoted to one another. The proof of them never wanting to never be apart was shown this year when they joined their Heavenly Father a mere 2 months apart.
Patsy, in her retirement years, loved nothing more than spending precious time with her sons and grandchildren. She also enjoyed gardening and going on family vacations. She will always be remembered for her love of Christ and family and for the sweet, kind, caring person she was.
Patsy is survived by her sons, Devin Ferguson and wife Karen and Wade Ferguson; grandchildren, Tabitha Ferguson, Cooper Ferguson and Dakota Ferguson; sister Janie Polk and numerous loving nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Ferguson; her parents and her siblings, Helen Wade Pilcher, Jack Wade and Dorothy Wade Mann.
Serving as pallbearers will be Randy Polk, Ricky Polk, Rusty Polk, Mike Fuller, James Gilliam and David Smitt.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Janie Polk for making the sacrifices to be with Pat and for her loving support to their family.
