Mrs. Luna passed away on June 9th, 2023, in Nacogdoches. She was born on April 26, 1962, in Nacogdoches.
Mary was raised on the farm and spent her childhood, along with her siblings, playing in the woods and enjoying being outside. From a young age, she truly enjoyed the simple things in life. She had a love of the outdoors and spent every minute she could, taking in the beauty that God had created. She found great happiness in watching hummingbirds and seeing the beautiful flowers. She never liked the cold weather, therefore, when springtime hit, you would find her outside as much as possible. Taking walks through the woods also taught her to NEVER walk around barefooted! The camping trips every year to the lake were some of the fondest times in her memory.
Mary loved her family. She was a wonderful mother, sister and friend. When she met Darrell Luna, and they were married, she knew she had found her soulmate. She loved Darrell without regrets and was completely devoted to him. They made many memories along the way and one of her favorite places was the passenger seat of Darrell’s truck as they enjoyed the views of the countryside and their time together. Her son, Cody, was a blessing to her and when she became a grandmother, she knew her heart was full. The joy that the grandchildren brought her was immeasurable. The happiness she experienced while loving on the grandchildren was something she could never fully describe but the overwhelming amount of love she had for them was astonishing.
Mary took great pride in loving on her family and friends. She enjoyed her monthly breakfast with Cody and he will forever cherish those mornings at Whataburger with her. She loved deeply and completely. No matter what was going on in her life, she had the resilience of always making her way back up. Darrell, Cody and the entire family knew her strengths and leaned on her for uplifting talks and conversations that always left them feeling better!
