Mark Rawlinson Obituary

In Loving Memory of Mark Rawlinson

January 20, 1966 – September 16, 2025

A memorial service for Mark Rawlinson, 59, of Nacogdoches, Texas, will be held on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Gospel Assembly Church, located at 2916 Lilly Street, Nacogdoches, TX.

Mark was born on January 20, 1966, to Lommie Rachel and Emma Lou Rawlinson. He passed away on September 16, 2025, following a long and courageous battle with cancer. Throughout his illness, Mark showed unwavering strength, bravery, and integrity, serving as an inspiration to everyone around him.

Mark had a true gift for music. He could play nearly any instrument and found great joy in sharing his talents as part of the church band. On July 2, 1995, he married the love of his life — his soulmate and "love muffin" — Teresa Rawlinson. This year, they celebrated 30 years of marriage, a milestone filled with love, laughter, and friendship. He loved spending time outdoors—fishing, hunting, making trips to the Sabine River, spending weekends at ‘the land,’ and traveling to South Texas for dove hunts with his sons and his brother Dwight.

Mark was the youngest of eight siblings: Dwayne, June, Dwight, Joy, Rhonda, Pam, and Richard. He cherished the closeness of his large family and held tight to those bonds throughout his life.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Teresa Rawlinson; his children, Ryan Rawlinson and his wife Cate, Blake Rawlinson and his wife Haley, his beloved bonus daughter, Rachel Koonce, and her husband Michael, CJ Rawlinson and his wife Inikia. Mark was a proud grandfather to Walker, Raylan, Grace, Khloe, and Skailer — all of whom brought him immeasurable joy.

He is also survived by his siblings: Dwight Rawlinson and his wife JoAnn, Rhonda Tubbe and her husband Dick, and Pam White and her husband Dennis. In addition, he leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews — each one holding a special place in his heart.

Mark will be remembered for his strong faith, his musical talent, and his love for family. He leaves behind a legacy of love and faith that will live on in all who knew him.
