Maria De La Torre Ramirez Obituary

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at Laird Funeral Home. Rosary will be at 7:30 PM.

María Carmen De la Torre Ramirez, de 87 años, falleció el 11 de mayo del 2023 en Nacogdoches. Carmelita nació en CD. Jerez, Chihuaha, México, hija de José y María De la Torre, el 10 de julio de 1935. Estuvo casada con su esposo, José Flores. Se conocieron en Río Grande Zacatecas, México, y más tarde contrajeron matrimonio en la misma localidad. A pesar de quedar viuda a temprana edad, esto no impidió que fuera una madre excepcional y laboriosa. Su logro más destacado fue criar, educar y brindar la mejor vida posible a sus amados 10 hijos.


Carmelita era una apasionada de la costura y una chef increíble, capaz de deleitar a todos con sus exquisitos platillos. Su familia la consideraba una mujer asombrosa, extremadamente trabajadora y amorosa, que siempre mostraba respeto a los demás. Entre sus numerosos pasatiempos se encontraban tejer, bordar, y coleccionar delfines. Tomaba en serio su relación espiritual y disfrutaba rezar su rosario dos veces al día.


Carmelita deja tras de sí a sus hijos: Adelaida Flores, Josepina Flores, Martha Flores, Rosa Flores, Rosario Flores, Maricruz Flores, Nubia Flores, Brenda Flores, Martín Flores, Sergio Flores, José Luis Flores y Francisco Flores; 56 nietos, 154 bisnietos y 12 tataranietos.
Le precedieron en la muerte su esposo, José Flores; y sus padres, José y María De la Torre.

 

María Carmen De la Torre Ramirez, 87, passed away on May 11, 2023, in Nacogdoches. Carmelita was born in Ciudad Jerez, Chihuahua, Mexico, to José and María De la Torre on July 10, 1935. She was married to her husband, José Flores. They met in Río Grande Zacatecas, Mexico, and later married in the same town. Despite becoming a widow at a young age, this did not prevent her from being an exceptional and hardworking mother. Her most outstanding achievement was raising, educating, and providing the best possible life for her beloved 10 children.


Carmelita was passionate about sewing and an incredible chef, able to delight everyone with her exquisite dishes. Her family considered her an amazing, extremely hardworking, and loving woman who always showed respect to others. Among her numerous hobbies were knitting, embroidering, and collecting dolphins. She took her spiritual relationship seriously and enjoyed praying the rosary twice a day.

Carmelita is survived by her children: Adelaida Flores, Josepina Flores, Martha Flores, Rosa Flores, Rosario Flores, Maricruz Flores, Nubia Flores, Brenda Flores, Martín Flores, Sergio Flores, José Luis Flores, and Francisco Flores; 56 grandchildren, 154 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, José Flores, and her parents, José and María De la Torre.
