Margarita Galvez Obituary

Margarita Figueroa Galvez, 49, of Nacogdoches, TX passed away on June 22, 2023, in Nacogdoches. She was born July 20, 1973 in Tlaltizapán de Zapata, Morelos, Mexico.

A memorial service will be held at 9am Saturday, July 8th, at Our Lady Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Nacogdoches.

Margarita was a lady who took what life gave her and made something out of it.  She loved life and each opportunity she had to help someone; she took it!  Her family was of utmost importance to her, and she continuously put them first.  In 2016, she met and married Francisco and they have shared many joyous times.  She was a wife, mother, sister and friend. Maga, as she was known, had great compassion and love for others.  She volunteered for fundraisers and enjoyed giving gifts just to make people smile and feel special.  Her salsa was a favorite among those who knew her, but everyone enjoyed pretty much everything she made.  Working at Tyson in Center, Texas was a highlight of her day.  She made many friends there and was a favorite amongst her co-workers.  During her time away from work, Maga made sure she and everyone around her, lived life to the fullest.  She enjoyed family gatherings and parties, made sure everyone was fed when they were around and was ultimately, the “life of the party”.  She never missed out on shopping at Ross Department Store, getting a pedicure or stopping for her favorite drink …. a caramel frappe! But, while doing anything, she always took the time to stop and send a Tik Tok so everyone could enjoy some of the happy times with her!  Every woman has a go-to person.  Maga’s was Eva.  They were as close as any best friends could be and spent lots of time together.  The two of them were a force when they were together and especially enjoyed traveling while making lasting memories or just hanging out at Eva’s house in Woden.  Her gentle nature, sweet smile, dedication to family and especially her love of life will forever be missed by those she held closest to her heart.

Maga is survived by her husband, Francisco Sarabia; daughter, Evelyn Bogan; son, Gerardo Ocon; sisters, Roberta Figueroa, Sabina Figueroa and Piedad Figueroa; brothers, Domingo, Julio, Bonifacio, Alexander, Fidel, Victor and Pedro; son-in-law, Jaquelon Bogan; her Salvadorean Family and numerous nieces and nephews.  She is also survived by her “sister-from-another-mother”, Eva Ramirez.
