Margaret (Martines) Rodrigues

Margaret Rodrigues, 81, of Nacogdoches passed away Friday, December 27, 2024 in Nacogdoches, TX.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am, Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with internment following at Moral Cemetery. Visitation for Mrs. Rodrigues will be 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm, Monday, December 30, 2024 at Laird Funeral Home.

A life well lived is not based on wealth or fame or possessions.  It is measured by what you are to others and the legacy you leave behind for those you love to carry forward.  Margaret Louise Rodrigues was a woman of great character and strength.  She was knowledgeable in things that only a mama can pass on to her children and grandchildren and her happiness was based on the joy those closest to her brought when they were around.  She was humble and kind and made the best of every moment she was given in life.  She loved her God and her church family and was a dedicated member of the community she was so very fond of.  Her husband and children knew she would always be their biggest cheerleader in whatever dream they were currently chasing and the sense of pride she felt while watching each of them grow into successful, happy adults was immeasurable.  She doted on her family and there was a common knowledge between them of her absolute ability to make sure everyone was always fed and never left her house hungry.  Her life was filled with memories that developed from her childhood, her marriage to her best friend, being blessed with children and grandchildren and the holidays they shared throughout life.  She also found great happiness on the days she and Danny, her “private chauffeur”, would go out on hunts for her favorite Hallmark ornaments or Beanie Babies to add to her vast collection.  Along with her treasures, her legacy of giving, devotion and love will forever serve as a reminder of the life she lived.

Margaret is survived by her loving and devoted husband of over 64 years, Danny Rodrigues; children, Larry Rodrigues & Alicia, Kenneth Rodrigues & Donna, Mark Rodrigues, and Susan McGhiey & Shaun; grandchildren, Clint Rodrigues & Annaliy, Brice Rodrigues & Paulina, Shelby Rodrigues & Hamilton, Heather McGhiey, Lacie Rodrigues & Quintan, and Corey Guarnere & Kim; great grandchildren, Sophia Rodrigues, Avery Guarnere and Jameson Guarnere; sisters, Alice Thompson and Barbara Martines; brother, David Martines & Linda; brother-in-law, Randy Rodrigues & Judy; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Edward & Theresa Martines; brother, Francis Martines & sister-in-law, Jessie; and brother-in-law, Jerry Bryan.

Serving as pallbearers will be Larry Rodrigues, Kenneth Rodrigues, Clint Rodrigues, Brice Rodrigues, Randy Rodrigues and Shaun McGhiey.
