Obituary

Margaret Sue (Jameson) Jacobs, 90, of Nacogdoches, Texas passed away April 19, 2023, in Nacogdoches, Texas. She was born on February 4, 1933, in Houston, Texas to the late Frank and Sue Anna (Bright) Jameson. Funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, April 22, 2023, at Laird Funeral Home.

Bitty was born February 4th, 1933, to Frank Jameson and Sue Anna Bright Jameson in Houston, TX. She attended Lamar High School in Houston, graduating in the class of 1951. She subsequently attended college at Texas Women’s College in Denton, TX, then Stephen F Austin State College in Nacogdoches, TX where she met her future husband, William Henry Jacobs. They married in 1953, and the arrival of her only child, Tony, cut short her initial college career in 1954. She later returned to TWU in Houston to continue her nursing degree, only to discover she enjoyed her job as a home maker more than working in a medical setting. Instead, she devoted her time to collecting antiques, fishing, gardening, and her beloved dogs. It was said that her dogs enjoyed a better standard of living than a good percentage of the world’s population.

She is survived by her son, Tony and wife Anne Jacobs of Nacogdoches, TX; her sister Florence Ann Brake of Granite Bay, CA; granddaughter Katheryn Elizabeth Best and husband Mark of Metairie, LA; greatgrandchildren Livy and Quinn Best of Metairie, LA; niece Sammie Yarbrough and husband Dennis of Crystal Beach, TX; nephew Don Jameson of Galveston, TX; nephew Pat Jameson and wife Stacy of Huffman, TX; nephew Kelly Jameson and wife Stacey of Huffman, TX; nephew Jimmy Brake and wife Christine of Granite Bay, CA; cousins Amy Wiman and husband Bill, Harriet Blakey and husband Jimmy, Charles Richard Hale, and Judy Wilson. Numerous great nieces and nephews as well.

She is preceded in death by her husband William H. “Jake” Jacobs, her brother Frank B Jameson, her parents Frank and Sue Jameson, and brother in law James Brake.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff of the Arbor Assisted Living Facility for their caring and patience for the past two years, as well as Harbor Hospice and Westward Trails Nursing home.
