Mae Ola Frederick

Mae Ola (Hedrick) Frederick, 69, of Nacogdoches, Texas, passed away on June 18, 2022, in Nacogdoches, Texas. She was born on March 5, 1953, in Lufkin, Texas, to the late Frank John and Jessie Mae (Hamilton) Hedrick. Funeral service will be at 10:00 am Thursday, June 23, 2022, at Laird Funeral Home, Nacogdoches, Texas.  Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery.

A visitation will be held from 9:00-10:00 am Thursday, June 23, 2022, at Laird Funeral Home in Nacogdoches, Texas.

Mae was born and raised in Lufkin, Texas.  She and David met at her home in Lufkin, when they were introduced by her brother-in-law.  They were married on January 3, 1981. Mae had a very rewarding career as a nurse throughout her life.  She worked at Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital as well as with Hospice of the Pines. She retired after many years of taking care of the residents of Nacogdoches nursing homes.  Mae loved traveling and spending time camping on the lake.  In her downtime she was known to keep very close tabs on what was going on with NCIS on television.  Mae’s favorite time was spent with her grandchildren who lovingly called her “Grandma”.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. 

Mae is survived by her husband, David Frederick; daughter, Jessica Renae Hickman; son, Jeremy Glenn Frederick and wife, Lindsay; stepson, David William Frederick and wife, Bobbie Jo; sisters, Helen Montes, Marion James and husband, Frank; grandchildren, Jacobie Frederick, Christian Hickman, J.J. Hickman, Catalina Hickman, Emma Grace Frederick, Andrew Frederick, Tori Frederick, and Cagen Frederick; great-grandchildren, Alyah Mae Frederick and Arya Frederick.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank John and Jessie Mae Hedrick; and sister, Joan Lunsford.
