Graveside services for Helen Louise (Stanaland) Stanfield, 90, of Douglass will be held at 12:00pm on Sunday, March 2, 2025, at the Sunset Memorial Park Mausoleum, officiated by Bro. Jason Lott. Mrs. Stanfield passed away on February 28, 2025, in Nacogdoches.
She was born on January 22, 1935, in Nacogdoches to the late Edgar W. and Bertie (Green) Stanaland.
Louise was born and raised in Nacogdoches. She graduated from Nacogdoches High School in 1953. Louise then went on to study at Massey Business School. She made a career as an administrative assistant in the UC Business Office of Stephen F. Austin University where she retired in 1997.
Louise met the love of her life, Ralph Stanfield, in Nacogdoches. The two were married on April 3, 1954. Through the 52 years they were together, they were blessed with a great life and family. Louise enjoyed being outdoors, mowing her yard, gardening, or tending to her flowers. She loved nothing more than spending time with her grandchildren. Hearing them call her “Nonna” was one of the greatest blessings of her life. Louise delighted in cooking for her family, and her famous chocolate pie will be missed by one and all. She was the epitome of Proverbs 31, a truly godly woman who loved the Lord. Louise was a member of Falvey Methodist Church in Wells.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Debbie Collins and husband, Danny of Douglass, and Mike Stanfield and wife, Felicia of Cushing; grandchildren, Kevin Collins, Kelvin Collins, Shawna Collins, Keri Collins, Heather Chavana, Shawn Anderson, Magan Stewart, Amanda Laflure, and Brandon Stanfield; 15 and one on the way great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; special neighbors children that she claimed as grandchildren, Kelley and Matt Mooman.
Welcomed into Heaven by her loving husband, Ralph Stanfield; parents, Edgar W. and Bertie Stanaland; and siblings, Joe Stanaland, Edgar M. Stanaland, Barbara Heflin, and Ruth Dale.
The family would like to offer a special thank you to Stallings Court, their staff, and Affinity Hospice for their great care of Louise throughout her time there.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Love in the Name of Christ (Love INC) at PO Box 630423, Nacogdoches, Texas, 75963; or the charity of your choice.
