Lottie Jinkins Obituary

Funeral service for Lottie Jinkins, 95, formerly of Nacogdoches will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at Laird Funeral Home with Bro. Jerry Wilson officiating.  Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.  Visitation will be held prior to the service, beginning at 10:00am.  Mrs. Jinkins passed away on Thursday, September 19, 2024 in North Carolina.  She was born on September 30, 1928 in Nacogdoches.

Lottie was a woman of character who loved and supported her family with her entire being.  She lived almost all her adult life in Nacogdoches, where she met the love of her life, Pervis Jinkins.  The two of them married and raised their family together and made many memories along the way until his passing in 1995, after almost 50 years as husband and wife.

Lottie loved being outdoors and her yard never went uncut.  She cared for and mowed at her house well into her 80’s.  Her kids will tell you that she wore out a lawnmower every year because she mowed all the yard at the highest speed it would go!  Never-the-less, she had a yard that was always moved and beautiful flowers and plants to show for her hard work.

Lottie was a longtime member of Westside Missionary Baptist Church, where she sat quietly and enjoyed the word of God.  She always helped with whatever was asked of her and knew her blessings were plentiful.

Following her retirement from Coca-Cola after 15 years of service, she found herself traveling with a great group of ladies.  Their travels included places all over North America, but her favorite and most visited place was Branson, Missouri.  She also enjoyed spending time at the Senior Center playing dominoes but would surely be found sitting at a table shuffling the dominoes if anyone made mention of a game.

Lottie is survived by her sons, David Jinkins & wife, Gail, Charles Jinkins & wife, Judy and Bobby Jinkins & wife, Susan; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren, 10 great - great grandchildren; her sisters, Lucy Stott and Ruthy Box; and sister-in-law, Corene Graham.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Pervis Jinkins; son, Pervis Jinkins, Jr.; great grandson, Kindon Jinkins; sisters, Edith Mills &    husband, Tommie, Anna Lou Johnson, and Becky Caliva & husband, Joe; brothers, Dudley Graham and Arthur Graham; and brother-in-law, William Donald “Curley” Stott.

Serving as pallbearers will be Carter Jinkins, Michael Jinkins, Jamie Jinkins, Chad Jinkins, Richard Jinkins, Freddy Stewart.
