Linda Yarbrough Obituary

Funeral service for Linda Yarbrough, 82, of Nacogdoches will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, December 18, 2025 at North Street Church of Christ with Bro. Shak Arrington officiating.  Interment will follow at Cold Springs Cemetery in Garrison.  Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 10:00am.

Linda was born December 29, 1942 in Nacogdoches.  Her parents were James Dewey “Pee Wee” & Ruth Pauline “Polly” Pirtle Langford of Cushing.

Linda’s dad was in the South Pacific Island of Latie, fighting the Japanese when she was born.   After the war, and her dad came home, they moved to Garrison, where she spent all her school years.  She was active in high school as a cheerleader supporting the Fighting Garrison Bulldogs.  That is where she met the love of her life Thomas Troy “Toddy” Yarbrough when she was just a sophomore and Toddy a senior.  She graduated high school in May 1961 and she and Toddy were married July 21, 1961.

Linda received an associate degree in business from Nacogdoches Business College. Toddy volunteered for the US Air Force in July 1962 while Linda was pregnant with their son Keith.  Linda and Toddy lived a short time in Wichita Falls where Linda was baptized into Christ.  After Keith was born, Toddy was stationed in Jacksonville, Arkansas where they lived until July 1966 when Toddy’s 4 years of military were up.  They moved back to Nacogdoches where Kelly was born in 1967 and they lived there until Toddy graduated from SFA in 1968.  After graduating college, they lived in many places that Toddy’s job took them but spent most of their time in Crosby, Texas.  While living in Crosby she worked at Houston Brick & Tile and NL Industries as an administrative and engineering assistant but mostly she spent her time as a devoted housewife and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.  She was devoted to her children and grandchildren’s lives and activities, especially baseball.

Linda loved to travel and did some with Toddy in his working years.  She got to travel to France where they lived for a little while and she had said before, she would do that again.  They also traveled to places like Spain, UK, Switzerland, Indonesia, and Bali.  She also loved to take family vacations, where they traveled in the US and Canada.  She truly saw the world.

In the last 20 plus years of her life she lived in Nacogdoches on a farm with Toddy.  They both became very active at North Street Church of Christ which they attend faithfully.  She was quietly involved in several service activities and devotional groups at the Church.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents James Dewey “Pee Wee” & Ruth Pauline “Polly” Langford of Garrison, two infant bothers, Jerry Wayne and Gary Dunn Langford.  Grandparents John Jackson & Lula Pearl Minter Langford, Finley “Big Daddy” & Unice Ivy Pirtle all of Cushing and several aunts and uncles.

Linda is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Thomas Troy “Toddy” Yarbrough; son Thomas Keith Yarbrough & wife Jana of Montgomery; daughter Kelly Lynne Motley & husband James of Crosby; grandsons Cody Ressler & wife Lindsey of Mont Belvieu and Casey Yarbrough of Crosby and great grandson Lane Ressler of Mont Belvieu.

Linda loved her family, friends and church family and will be missed by many.
