A Visitation for Linda Milford will be held from 5-7pm on Friday, May 31, 2024 at Laird Funeral Home.
Linda C. Milford, 83, of Nacogdoches, passed away in the early morning of May 21, 2024, in Nacogdoches. She was born April 28, 1941 in El Dorado, Arkansas to A. H. “Tommy” and Mamie Crouch.
After graduating from Marshall High School in Marshall, Texas, Linda earned her Bachelor’s degree from Texas Women’s University. She initially pursued a career in the fashion design industry, working for several years before returning to East Texas to join Mize Factory, where she remained until its closure. This pivotal moment led her to a new professional path. While working at the Nacogdoches County Courthouse, Linda discovered a passion for accounting. She returned to school and earned her accounting degree and CPA certification from Stephen F. Austin State University.
Linda subsequently joined Axley and Rode Accounting Firm in Lufkin, where her dedication and expertise earned her a partnership, a role she held until her retirement.
Linda was an avid reader, quilter, and skilled embroiderer. She was a lifelong member of the Friends of the Library and actively participated in the East Texas Embroidery Guild, where she enjoyed creating intricate works of art with her friends. Her love for travel allowed her to explore many destinations both domestically and internationally.
Linda is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Presley & husband, Brady of Longview; her son, James Milford & wife, Meagan of Richmond; her grandchildren, Andrea Presley, Robyn Presley, Heather Presley, Kamryn Presley, Harrison Milford, Mamie Milford, and Frances Milford; and great-granddaughter, Charlotte Gene Presley.
She was preceded in death by her parents, A. H. “Tommy” & Mamie Crouch; sister, Arlen Guy and Brother-in-law, Robert E. Guy.
