Leroy Pierce Obituary

Roy Lee “Leroy” Pierce, age 96, passed away on September 10, 2025, in Garrison, TX. A Memorial Graveside service will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, October 3, 2025, at Mixon Cemetery with Bro. David Hallum officiating.

Born on July 3, 1929, to John Ernest and Dora Elaine (Grimes) Pierce in Jacksonville, Texas. He grew up in the Tecula community and after school went to join the Army Airforce from 1947 to 1950.

Leroy started life with his first wife, Annie Sanders, and spent 63 years together before her passing. Then he met Nancy, and they spent 15 years together.

Leroy worked at Sears as a Service Rep for 25 years then moved on to J-Ville Computer Store for 10 years. He joined the Hamm Radio Operator Club, who are radio enthusiasts who come together to share knowledge, operate radios, participate in contests, and assist the community with their technical skills and he loved being involved every chance he could.

Leroy was a jack of all trade’s kind of man, loved to fix things and was very active to the end. He had sense of humor and positive attitude about everything. He loved eating ice cream and fishing in Port Lavaca, but most of all he loved spending time with his family. He was a good Christian man who showed his beliefs by leading his family by example. Known as “Grandpa” all the grandchildren and great – grandchildren loved being with him spending time and cherishing every moment together.

Leroy is survived by his wife, Nancy Pierce; son, Jack Pierce; grandchildren, Shawn Pierce and wife Tonya, Kenneth Pierce, Robert Pierce and wife, Bridget, Priscilla Pierce, Jason Pierce and wife, Kristen and Nicole Pierce Oleksiak and husband, Eric; and numerous great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Ethel Sanders Pierce; son, Bob Pierce; parents, John and Dora Pierce; brother, Ervin M. Pierce and sister, Hazel Johniken.
