Obituary

Kent Land was born August 19, 1944, in Orange County, Texas. His adoptive parents were Ira and Bert Land of Nacogdoches, Texas.  Kent married Betty Jean Adams on August 24, 1974.  After 34 years of marriage Betty passed in 2018.  Kent was found deceased in his home on February 24, 2023.  He is survived by their adopted son, Anthony (Tony) Land, his wife, Tonya, several grandchildren and friends.

Kent was a graduate of SFA with a bachelor’s in art.  He enjoyed passing on his love of art through painting and teaching others to be creative through various art media. Kent trained in the martial art of Tae Kwon Do and achieved the rank of 1st Dan Blackbelt.  He also loved scuba diving and underwater photography.  He earned his PADI Divemaster certification and went on to teach others how to safely enjoy the unique world found below the water’s surface.

Most of all Kent will be remembered for his dry sense of humor.  He always had a joke or witty retort on the tip of his tongue.  He blessed everyone he encountered with the gift of laughter.  It was his goal to make you smile.

Thank You, LORD, for putting this wonderful man in our lives.
There is no memorial service planned at this time.
