Mr. Young passed away on Saturday, November 4, 2023 in Chireno. He was born on August 25, 1948 in El Paso.
Kenneth was a simple man who loved him family more than life itself. As a child, he was the only son of a military father which led Kenneth to join and honorably serve in the United State Army, 101st Airborne Division during the Vietnam War. During these young and formative years, Kenneth found out what true love was. He met and married his sweetheart, Brenda, on May 15, 1971. The two of them have spent the past 52 years by each other’s side. Kenneth loved Brenda so much. He depended on her more than she even realized. She was his everything and Brenda knew how much she meant to him. They were the proud parents of a wonderful daughter, Sheila. Kenneth loved her beyond measure, just like he did her mama.
Kenneth worked as a truck driver for several companies and in 2001, he retired from Temple Inland. For the last 20 years, he has been afforded the opportunities that he dreamed of….relaxing and enjoying the world and all it had to offer in his full, yet simple life. He spent as much time as he could spoiling his wife, daughter, the grandchildren and of course his little dog, Sugar; When the time came for football, he would watch his beloved Dallas Cowboys (and screaming when they did not do well) all while eating his favorite zebra cakes and drinking a diet coke. When he was handed the role of great grandfather, his heart overflowed with joy and happiness. Life was good and he was happy. He will be missed but will forever be remembered for the kind, loving soul that was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend.
Kenneth is survived by his loving wife, Brenda Young of Chireno; daughter, Sheila Sharp & husband, Anthony of Village Mills; grandchildren, Ashton Sharp of Village Mills, Matthew Sharp of Fred, Ryan Sharp of Spurger and Mason Sharp of Village Mills; great grandson, Evan Sharp of Fred and sister, Judy Love of Chireno.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ennis and Pauline Murray Young; great granddaughter, Harper Blake Nunnally; brothers, Bobby Young and LaVon Grimes and his brother-in-law, Wayne Love.
Serving as pallbearers will be Anthony Sharp, Matthew Sharp, Ryan Sharp, Mason Sharp, Josh Sharp, Roy Love, Taylor Love and Weston Love
