Funeral services for Kenneth Boyett, 86, of Nacogdoches, will be held at 11:00am on Friday, July 25, 2025, at Appleby Church of Christ with Wesley Wiggins, Shak Arrington, and Tim Perkins officiating. Interment will follow at Bethel Cemetery. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00am on Friday, July 25, 2025, at Appleby Church of Christ. Mr. Boyett passed away on July 21, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on December 7, 1938, in Appleby to the late Laney and Lorene Till Boyett.
Kenneth retired from Southwestern Bell after 45 years of service. He worked in Nacogdoches all that time except for 10 years in Houston where they made lifelong friends. Kenneth loved motorhomes, tractors, and computers. He often would help friends with their motorhome and computer problems. Kenneth enjoyed listening to bluegrass music and going to concerts. He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed camping and traveling with friends. Some of their dearest friends were the Streeters whom they camped with for over 60 years.
Kenneth was a faithful member of the Church of Christ where he served as deacon for many years. He deeply loved his church family and enjoyed working for the church. Kenneth enjoyed his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Kenneth leaves behind his wife, Donna Snelson Boyett; daughters, Regina Himelfarb, and Karen Phillips and husband, Jimmy; son-in-law, Richard Cranford; grandchildren, Greg Phillips and wife, Ashley, Callie Halbert and husband, Jason, and Kelsey Standifer and husband, Phillip; great-grandchildren, Kolt and Kase, Kade and Reece, Ava and Knox; sister, Sue Peace; and brother, Don Boyett and wife, Kathy; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Laney and Lorene Boyett; daughter, Rebecca Boyett Cranford; son-in-law, John Himelfarb; and brother-in-law, Bill Peace.
Serving as pallbearers will be Greg Phillips, Jason Halbert, Phillip Standefer, Brad Boyett, Steven Bryant, and John Sparks. Honorary pallbearers are Pete Baggett, Rodney Butler, Jim Stevens, Jim Weatherly, Joel Worley, Jack Griffin, Herb Chatman, John Stanaland, David Williams, Julian Wallace, Forrest Stanaland, Kim McMorries, Mike Worsham, Tom Yarbrough, and Danny Teel.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Kenneth’s memory to OCR Church of Christ African Missions. Donations can be given to Shak Arrington or Marty Ellis. Or to the Garrison Historical Society, Wiley Hotel.
