Kaedyn Nelson Obituary

Funeral service for Kaedyn "KK" Nelson, 17, of Woden will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at Fredonia Hill Baptist Church.  Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.  Visitation will be held from 5-8pm on Friday, October 10, 2025 at Fredonia Hill Baptist Church.

Kaedyn loved Jesus with all her heart and found great joy in sharing His love with everyone she met. She had the gift of kindness, always making sure no one felt left out or alone. Her sweet spirit, sincerity and thoughtfulness left an unforgettable mark on many around the world.

Known affectionately as "KK the Courageous", she inspired her community and beyond through her faith and her successful, fierce battle through cancer. Her courage became a light for others walking difficult paths.

Kaedyn was a Junior at Woden High School.  She was an active member in Fellowship of Christian Students, Family Career and Community Leaders of America, Texas Association of Future Educators, Varsity Cross Country Team, Woden High School Cheer and Extreme Cheer.

Kaedyn's love for life was brightest when she was doing what she loved most: attending church functions, cheering with Extreme Cheer and Woden Cheer, running cross country, serving as a Youth Ambassador for Pineywoods Fair and Nacogdoches Pro Rodeo & Steer Show and spending time with her family and friends. Her radiant smile, energy and passion could light up any room--or gym--she entered.

Kaedyn was a devoted member of Corner Post Cowboy Church. Her heart longed to be in God’s house, serving Him and living as a faithful follower of Jesus. She cherished the time she spent attending church services and youth church camps.  Her lifelong dream was to one day serve as a Camp Wrangler at Camp WOW (Walk on Water).

Kaedyn was a loving Christian daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, and friend. Though her time on earth was far too short, her impact will live on in the countless lives she touched through her faith, courage and love. To know her was to truly love her. On October 5, 2025, she was welcomed into her Heavenly home by her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

"Well done, good and faithful servant" Matthew 25:21

Kaedyn’s legacy is one of unwavering faith, radiant love and courageous strength. She lived every day with a servant’s heart; spreading joy, kindness and encouragement wherever she went. Through her brave and faithful journey, she showed others what it truly meant to trust God in all circumstances. Her smile, compassion and courage will continue to shine through the lives she touched, reminding us all to love deeply, live boldly and keep our eyes on Jesus.

Kaedyn is survived by her mother, Brittany White & Chance; father, Trevor Nelson & Chrissy; sisters, Gracie Nelson and Jayleigh White;  brothers, Colt Baumbach, Jaxon Moreno and Jett Socia; grandparents, Harold & Linda Nelson and Bo & Anita Scott; Uncle Dolen Hill & Aunt Tabitha, Uncle Trent Nelson & Aunt April, Uncle “T” Timothy Grace & Aunt “Mae” Maegan and Uncle Jake Scott; cousins, Aubin Hill, Kalep Hill, Klayton Nelson, Layci Hill, Kolten Hill, Kennedy Nelson, Trayton Nelson, Saiylee Nelson, Elias Hargraves, Luna Hargraves, Haidyn Scott, and Raveena Hargraves.  She is also survived by numerous other cousins and a multitude of truly great friends of all ages.
