Justin Key Obituary

Memorial service for Justin Wade Key, 41, of Garrison will be held at 11:00am on Monday, July 5, 2021 at Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church with Todd Muckleroy, officiating.  Inurnment will follow at Holly Springs Cemetery.  Visitation with family and friends will be held from 10:00am until service time on Monday.  Justin was born on October 13, 1979 in Nacogdoches and passed away on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 in Nacogdoches.

As any typical East Texas young’un did, Justin spend his childhood days playing outside and exploring.  He tried and succeeded most of the time, to get away with whatever he and his little friends could without getting into trouble.  Justin’s mom, Wanda and dad, Johnny watched as he grew into the young man he was.  Justin attended Garrison High School and was forever a “Bulldog”.   He loved his friends and family and was happiest when he was surrounded by those he loved the most.  He enjoyed riding the four-wheeler and exploring this great country that he called home.  Justin’s life was completed with the birth of his daughter, Savannah of whom he nicknamed “Punkin” or “Boogie” when he really wanted to aggravate her.  His favorite title was Daddy and everyone knew that.  Justin loved with his entire being.  If he was your friend, he would go to the end of the earth to help you.  If he did not know you, he would still go to the end of the earth to help you.  That was Justin.  He was helpful, kind, loving, generous and never met a stranger.  Although he left this world all too soon for those who loved him, he has been reunited with the ones who have gone on before him and his legacy of love and giving will go on in his closest “people”.

Justin will be missed by so many including his precious daughter, Savannah Faith Key; his devoted parents, Wanda Coats Schenk and husband, Ron and Johnny W. Key and wife, Sherry; siblings, Jason Key, Morgan Key Weems and husband, J.T., Ryan Schenk and wife, Kay and Jill Schenk Lehman and husband, Jason; nieces and nephews that he loved dearly, Hunter Key and wife, Madison (and soon to be born great-niece Kennedy Elaine Key) Kane Key, Evan Schenk, Caleb Schenk, Maggie Schenk, Kinley Hoffman, Aaron Lehman, Ethan Lehman, Raylan Weems and Stetson Weems; He is also survived by many much loved aunts, uncles, cousins and countless friends.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Jim A. & Elsie Coats and R.P. “Chipper” and Mildred Key.
