Mrs. Luna passed away on May, 24, 2023 in Nacogdoches, TX. She was born on December 19, 1945 in Jennings, LA.

Judy was born in Jennings, Louisiana, where she gained her deep seeded cajun roots.  One evening she was set up on a blind date by Jack Murphy.  Jack happened to be dating Kevin Luna’s cousin, and they knew the two would be a great pair.  It didn’t take long for Judy and Kevin to realize the same thing.  On August 30, 1959, the two were married and Judy became the wife she was destined to be.  She spent the next 64 years by his side and never faltered.  She supported him and he knew she was the best part of his life.  She took great pride in doing everything she could so that he could be the provider for the family.  He came home to a hot meal every day and a wife that loved him very much.  Together, they raised 3 boys and Judy loved every minute of it.  She was exactly what a mother should be.  She was attentive, supportive, loved them endlessly and devoted herself to them completely.  Although she sometimes had to use her stern voice because they were typical boys, she still stood beside them and made sure they were raised with the teachings from parents that knew them best.  When she began her life as a grandmother, she found a new reason to get the family to her house!  She loved them so much and to see them smiling and playing became some of her best memories.  She was also blessed with having Jaidyn join their family.

Judy was a woman who stood up for what she believed, said what she was thinking and had a unyielding belief about how family should be treated.  She also had a giving heart of gold and helped everyone she could.  She enjoyed oil painting, summers spent on the lake with the grandkids, and the occasional trip gambling.  She will always be remembered as the woman who kept the family straight and cooked the absolute best meals!

Judy is survived by her best friend and husband of 64 years, Kevin Luna, Sr.; children, Kevin Luna Jr. & wife, Cindy of Lovelady, Paul Luna & wife, Missy of Nacogdoches, Darrell Luna & wife, Mary of Nacogdoches and Jaideyn Watson of Nacogdoches; grandchildren, Sheila Luna, Danny Luna & wife, Shelley, Paul Luna Jr. & wife, Jennifer, Jae Luna & wife, Kari and Stephanie Luna & wife, Dora; great grandchildren, Mihyia Davis, Mikyia Davis, Ryan Luna, Braxton Luna, Trenton Luna, Brianna Luna, Lee Luna, Kylie Luna, Karson Luna, Kaden Luna, Kynzie Luna and Gage Luna; siblings, Sharon Dugue & husband, Joe of LaPorte and Jerry Vige & wife, Linda of LaPorte; sister-in-law, Theresa McKewen & husband, Taylor; as well as a very large extended family that she loved deeply.
