Juana Cardenas

Funeral services for Juana Cardenas, 72, of Nacogdoches, Texas, will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, March 27, 2021, at Our Lady of Guadalupe with Rev. Roselio Fuentes officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, March 26, 2021, at Laird Funeral Home. A Rosary will follow at 7:00 PM. 

Mrs. Cardenas passed away on Thursday, March 25, 2021, in Lufkin, Texas. 

Mrs. Cardenas was born in San Luis Potosi, Mexico to Ursulo and Manuela Cardenas on May 16, 1948. Mrs. Cardenas met her husband Julian in Mexico where they were married. They were able to spend the last 45 years together. The last 18 years were spent in Nacogdoches making a home for their family. She worked very has as a mother and a wife. She enjoyed cooking for her family, knitting, and was very fond of music.

Juana is survived by her husband, Julian Alonso; sons, Julio Alonso, Eloy Alonso and wife, Elizabeth and Marco Alonso and wife, Azucena; grandchildren, Julieth Alonso, Julian Issac Alonso, Gerardo Alonso, and Alma Alonso; and mother, Manuela Cardenas.

She is preceded in death by her father, Ursulo.

Serving as pallbearers will be: Jorge Perez, Julio Alonso, Eloy Alonso, Miguel Alonso, and Miguel Alonso.

Los servicios funerarios para Juana Cárdenas, 72, de Nacogdoches, Texas, se llevarán a cabo a las 3:00 PM el sábado 27 de marzo de 2021 en Our Lady of Guadalupe con el Rev. Roselio Fuentes oficiando. Seguirá el sepelio en Sunset Cemetery. El velorio se llevará a cabo de 6:00 p.m. a 8:00 p.m. el viernes 26 de marzo de 2021 en Laird Funeral Home. Seguirá un rosario a las 7:00 PM. La Sra.

Cárdenas falleció el jueves 25 de marzo de 2021 en Lufkin, Texas.

La Sra. Cárdenas nació en San Luis Potosí, México de Ursulo y Manuela Cárdenas el 16 de mayo de 1948. La Sra. Cárdenas conoció a su esposo Julián en México, donde se casaron. Pudieron pasar los últimos 45 años juntos. Los últimos 18 años los pasó en Nacogdoches haciendo un hogar para su familia. Trabajó mucho como madre y esposa. Le gustaba cocinar para su familia, tejer y le gustaba mucho la música.

A Juana le sobreviven su esposo, Julián Alonso; hijos, Julio Alonso, Eloy Alonso y esposa, Elizabeth y Marco Alonso y esposa, Azucena; nietos, Julieth Alonso, Julian Issac Alonso, Gerardo Alonso y Alma Alonso; y madre, Manuela Cardenas.

Le antecede en la muerte su padre, Ursulo.

Serán portadores del féretro: Jorge Pérez, Julio Alonso, Eloy Alonso, Miguel Alonso y Miguel Alonso.
