Jonathan Dwight Eason

Funeral service for Jonathan Eason, 63, of Nacogdoches will be held at 10:00am  on Friday, May 29, 2026 at Fredonia Hill Baptist Church with Bro. Kendall McDonald officiating.  Visitation will be held from 5-7pm Thursday, May 28, 2026 at Fredonia Hill Baptist Church.

Mr. Eason passed away on Friday, May 22, 2026 in Tyler. 

Jonathan Dwight Eason was born on June 7, 1962, the son of Joe and Mary Molandes Eason.  He was a lifelong resident of Nacogdoches County and a longtime member of Fredonia Hill Baptist Church.  His childhood was filled with lots of adventures with his brothers, as they roamed the southwestern part of the county near the Angelina River.  Johnny, as most knew him, graduated from Nacogdoches High School in 1980 and soon went to work at Gibson’s until they closed.  He then went to work at WalMart, where he remained for almost 30 years.  He made many friends and loved his time there.  Although Johnny never married, his family was very important to him.  He enjoyed taking care of things at home, including washing dishes, folding clothes and mowing the yard with his push mower. 

Johnny is survived by his brothers, Joe Eason, Jr & wife Lynn and Gary Eason.

Serving as pallbearers will be Deacon’s and members of Fredonia Hill Baptist Church.
