Jerry Max Lunsford (Max), 64, of Garrison, Texas, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2025. Born and raised in the heart of East Texas, Max was a man of faith, hard work, and a deep love for his family, his friends, and the simple joys of life.
Throughout his life, Max embodied the values of dedication and perseverance. He worked for many years as a poultry farmer for Tyson, and his skills as a welder were second to none. He took great pride in his work. His life was a testament to the value of a good day’s labor and the importance of providing for those you love.
In his free time, Max loved to fish, often finding peace along the banks of his favorite spots. He also had a lifelong love of Elvis Presley. His Elvis collection and his impromptu renditions of his favorite songs were a true reflection of his joyful spirit and the fun-loving side of his nature.
One of the qualities that defined Max the most was his ability to connect with people. He never met a stranger, always welcoming others with a smile and a kind word. His warm heart and easygoing nature made him a beloved friend, and his company was treasured by all who knew him.
Max was deeply committed to his faith and loved the Lord with all his heart. He enjoyed singing gospel music with his mother playing the piano. His faith was the cornerstone of his life, guiding him through both the challenges and blessings that came his way.
Above all, Max cherished his family. He was a devoted father to his three daughters, Krissy, Lacey, and Meagan, whom he loved beyond measure. He carried the sorrow of losing his daughter, Lacey, with him always, but he kept her memory close in his heart. The love he had for his girls and his grandchildren never wavered, and they were his pride and joy.
Max also shared a special bond with his beloved weenie dog, Minnie, who was a faithful companion throughout his life. She was his constant buddy, always by his side, bringing comfort and companionship to his days.
