Jerry Wayne Brewer, age 78, of Nacogdoches, Texas, passed from this life into the arms of his Lord and Savior with peace and grace, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on August 31, 1946, in Winnsboro, Texas, to Travis and Frankie Brewer, Jerry lived a life marked by faith, hard work, and a servant’s heart.
After graduating Winnsboro High School Jerry answered the call to serve his country in the United States Army. Upon completing his service, he returned home to East Texas where he began work as a service man in the poultry industry and later took over the family chicken farm. Through the years, Jerry’s entrepreneurial spirit led him to run several businesses, and no matter the season of life, he always worked hard to provide for his family with unwavering dedication and love.
He was a man who met life head-on — never one to shy away from a challenge or leave a task unfinished.
Those who knew Jerry knew the kind of man he was — dependable, strong, and selfless. He was the kind of person who did what needed to be done, no matter the circumstances. His hands were always ready to help, and his heart was always open to serve. Whether it was a neighbor in need, a friend down on their luck, or a stranger passing through, Jerry showed up with compassion and a can-do spirit that left a lasting impact.
Jerry was a devoted husband to his beloved wife of 57 years, Brenda Brewer. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and generosity. He was a proud father to his daughter, Jennifer Tomlin and her husband, Randy, and an adoring grandfather to his two grandsons, Ryker and Carter Tomlin, who were the joy of his life.
“Well done, good and faithful servant... enter into the joy of your Lord.” – Matthew 25:23
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Brewer of Nacogdoches; daughter, Jennifer Tomlin and husband, Randy; grandsons, Ryker and Carter Tomlin; siblings, Paricia Yerke, twin brother Gerald & Kathy Lynn Brewer, Billy Brewer, Kathy Brown, Tom & Jan Brewer, Donna & John Futral, and Tessie & Jim Corbitt, and a host of extended family and dear friends who will miss his strength, his laughter, and his unwavering love.
