Mr. Mooman passed away on Tuesday, April 25, 2023 in Houston.  He was born on May 23, 1956 in Pasadena, Texas.

Jerry Wayne Mooman loved people and spent each day being a blessing to his family and friends.  He was devoted and a man of his word.  Jerry never met a stranger and was always the first in line to help someone in need.  He loved without boundaries.  His life portrayed exactly the person he was inside and out and his family knew their patriarch would always be the example they needed.  He was driven but patient; loyal (sometimes to a fault) and dedicated; and he was the biggest supporter of his kids.  His talents in building or fixing things were only some of the characteristics portrayed by this man who was the biggest hero to those who loved him the most.  He was never overbearing or harsh because a look was all it took for everyone to know what he was thinking.  His career with Big Dutchman was one that not only supported his family but gave him many opportunities to travel.  Jerry had a love of travel and enjoyed the time he spent in South Korea, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Australia, South America and Aola but his favorite adventures were those he took with Karen and the kids.  Jerry’s dedication to Karen and Matt and Kelly was immeasurable.  He loved them dearly and from the first ball game until the last graduation, he never missed any of their events.  When he was called away to some of the places he traveled for work, he always called home to make sure they knew he loved them and would be home soon.  When he wasn’t working, his passion for nature and animals found him building martin boxes and squirrel feeders and watching all the wildlife he loved so much.  He loved watching the hummingbirds and deer at the feeder and was lucky enough to raise many baby rabbits that he rescued.  But his favorite animal was certainly his special buddy, Scooter (his Yorkie).  He was proud to have him as his riding buddy in the ranger and Scooter rarely let him out of his sight.  Jerry will forever remain the strong guiding factor for Kelley and Matt and the love of her life to Karen.  His legacy of love, compassion, giving and showing grace to those around him will forever remain in the memories of all who loved him.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Karen Mooman; son, Matthew Mooman; daughter, Kelley Mooman and brother, Ronnie Mooman and wife, Monica.

He is preceded in death by his father, Billy Eugene Mooman; stepmother, Joan Aylor Mooman; stepfather, Pat O’Maley Johnson and his mother.

Serving as pallbearers will be Randy Rodrigues, Brent Boyd, Kendall McLoud, Danny Collins and Kara Porter.
