Memorial Service for Jennifer Clark, 51, of Nacogdoches, will be held at 3:00pm on Friday, August 25, 2023 at Laird Funeral Home with Bro. John McGuire officiating.
Ms. Clark passed away on August 13, 2023 in Nacogdoches, TX. She was born on February 28, 1972 in Newport News, VA.
From an early age, Jennifer had a great love of children. As the oldest of her siblings, she often carried around her brothers and treated them as her “babies”. As she grew older, she realized just how much children meant to her, thus leading up to her career that embraced her favorite thing in life. She graduated from Stephen F. Austin with a bachelor’s degree in Child and Family Development. During her time at SFA, she worked at Tanglewood Early Childhood and fell more in love with the little ones. She eventually became the assistant director, a job she took great pride in. Later, she served as general manager at Rainbow Restoration. Jennifer loved her co-workers just like family.
When Jennifer was blessed with the birth of her son, Austin, the joy that filled her world was multiplied. She loved Austin more than life itself. She always made sure his needs at school and home were met. He was her everything, as she was to him. Her natural ability to be a caregiver was apparent during the last year while her mom battled breast cancer. She was there for her every step of the way. She was very devoted to her family and her nieces and nephews never went without being showered with gifts at every holiday and birthday.
Jennifer’s selfless love for others also included a passion for animals. It was just another day in her life when she would show up with a stray animal to take care of. She loved them all and would try her best to take care of all of them she could. She absolutely loved her 4 dogs and 4 cats, which were strays themselves until Jennifer found them. She doted on them as if they were her human children too.
Jennifer is survived by her son, Austin Shriver of Nacogdoches; Mom, Jeanne Marie Childrey Goff of Nacogdoches; dad, Alton Eugene Goff & wife, Mary of Longview; siblings, Robert Goff & wife, Danielle of Spring, AJ Goff & wife, Aby of Lufkin, Alex Goff of Longview and Dana Corbin Simmons & husband, John of Katy; special aunt, Nancy Dial; niece and nephews Madeleine, Dallas, Peyton, Preston, Jacob and Caleb; special aunt, Nancy Dial and additional aunts, Jean, Linda & Kay.
