The Wallace Family of Central Heights announces the passing of James Allen “Tinker” Wallace on Sunday, February 21, 2021. Tinker Wallace was born in Baytown, Texas on June 1, 1943 to George Anderson “Boots” Wallace and Rosie Estelene (Nelson) Wallace who both preceded him in death. Also preceding him in his death was his brother Mack Wallace. He moved to Central Heights as a teenager and graduated from Central Heights High School in 1961. He received his Bachelor of Science and Masters Degree in Agriculture Science from Stephen F. Austin State University. Mr. Wallace retired from Central Heights ISD as an Agriculture Teacher in 1999 and also taught at Slocum ISD and Overton ISD. Mr. Wallace and wife Denise married on June 9,1990. Mr. and Mrs. Wallace are members of First Baptist Church in Douglass, TX.
Mr. Wallace is survived by his wife Denise Wallace, of Central Heights, TX; Bobby Wallace, brother and wife Carla of Spring, TX; Gary Wallace, brother and wife Mary of Nacogdoches, TX: Stefanie Shoemaker, daughter of Central Heights, TX; Tim Wallace, son and wife Nicole of Decatur, TX; Jimmy Wallace, son and wife Amanda of Mount Enterprise, TX. Grandchildren - Austin and wife Katelyn Shoemaker, Dustin and wife Lindsey Shoemaker, Colin Wallace, Caleb Wallace, Caiden Wallace, Tanner Wallace, and Alyssa Wallace. Great grandchildren - Kase Walker Shoemaker and Easton James Shoemaker and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Friday, February 26, 2021 at Laird Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10am – 11am prior to the service.
