Mr. Martin passed away September 26, 2022, in Woden. He was born February 18, 1960, in Hico.

Earl was born in Hico, Texas on February 18, 1960, the son of Berrie and Cleta Jo Martin.  He was raised in Arlington alongside his 3 brothers and learned to be tough as nails!  As he grew into a young man, he did yardwork and other little jobs to make extra money.  One Easter weekend, as he was visiting his nieces, he met a young lady that caught his attention.  He was smitten with Angie but as life can do sometimes, there were things driving them in different directions.  Later, they found each other again and in 1999, they were married and made their home in Etoile.  Earl was no stranger to hard work.  He worked on the pipeline to provide for his family and Angie and Charlie traveled with him to some very interesting and some not so interesting places, including Virginia, Rockport, Lake Charles, Pecos, and many others.  They made many memories through their travels and learned to enjoy every minute they had.  Earl had a hard shell but a heart of gold.  He was tough but sensitive and those who knew him best, always counted on him to be their backup when they needed it.  Earl was a loving father, husband, brother, uncle and friend and was sure to bring joy wherever he was.  He had a great passion for old cars and hot rods and enjoyed working on them every chance he got.  He also loved the time he spent in the midst of the serene vastness of his home where the sound of country life filled the air as he appreciated the finer things in life alongside his family and friends.  In recent times, he was overjoyed with the feeling of knowing those he has loved for many years, were again by his side.  Earl’s fast wit, great sense of humor and smiling face will forever be missed by everyone who was blessed to have him in their lives.

Earl is survived by his wife of 23 years, Angie Martin of Woden; children, Tamara Martin of Huffman, Cleta Gann & husband, Eric of Spring and Charlie Martin of Etoile; grandchildren, Macy Smith and Lily Gann and brothers, Eugene Martin & wife, Jessica of Woden and Donny Martin & wife, Debby of Alba as well as numerous nieces and nephews who held a special place in his heart.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Ronny Martin.
