James Clift Norwood

James Clift Norwood, 60 of Etoile, passed away Saturday, July 29 2023 in Etoile. 

Funeral service for Mr. Norwood will be at 10:00 am, Thursday, August 3 at Laird Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Swanson officiating.

Internment will be at Saint’s Rest Cemetery following the service.

James, or “Baracuda” as some knew him was born March 18, 1963 to parents Benjamin and Patsy Norwood.  He attended Woden school where he grew up.  He loved fishing, hunting, and hunting arrowheads.  He loved his family and showed his kids and granddaughters off every chance he got.  James was a talented poet and liked to refer to himself as “fine as a frog’s hair split four ways”.  He also loved to reminisce on his glory days on the baseball field and basketball court.  He was a natural athlete and loyal Cowboy’s fan.  He could often be found jamming out to Rock N Roll music including Pink Floyd and the Beatles.

James is survived by his daughters, Lacie Norwood, Lynsie Norwood; son, James Norwood and wife Tamara; stepson, Jake Norwood; father, Benjamin Norwood and wife, Patricia; sister, Sandy Morgan and Andre; brother, Don Norwood and wife Sandy; grandchildren, Haylie Porter, Aubrie Porter, Kenslie Thomas, Harlie Falcon, Nova Norwood; other family members including Emily Hanzel, Kim Vaughn, and Joyce Wesley and husband Carey.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Patsy Kimmey-Cates.

Serving as pallbearers are Don Norwood, Justin Norwood, John Allen, Paul Scott, Jake Norwood, JC Norwood, Emily Hanzel, and Glen Burkes.
