James Covington

James Covington, 82 of Nacogdoches, TX passed away Sunday, January 22, 2023 in Nacogdoches,

Graveside service for Mr. Covington will be held at 10:00 am Friday, January 27, 2023 at Sunset Memorial Park in Nacogdoches, Tx.

Visitation for James, will be from 5:00-7:00 pm Thursday, January 26, 2023 at Laird Funeral Home.

James loved to listen to country music and reading western novels.  He was a devout student of the Bible; he also enjoyed fishing, shooting guns, and telling humorous stories.  He was also a well-respected home builder and electrician as well as a former Troop Master with the Boy Scouts of America, Troop 606.

James is survived by his wife, Joy Covington; sister, Janette Cravy and husband Richard; daughter, Lynn Deal and husband James; son, Dale Covington; stepchildren, Kathy DeAngelis and husband Luciano, David Robbins and Pamala Taylor, Darrell Robbins and wife Raejean; and numerous step grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Berl and Ruby Covington, and son, John Covington.

Serving as honorary pallbearers are the crew of JLC Electrical Contractors and the men of North Street Church of Christ.
