Mrs. Irma Eleanor DeJean passed away on May 22, 2022, in Nacogdoches. She was born on October 7, 1942.
Irma lived a very blessed life, surrounded by those she loved the most. From a very early age, she had a passion for beautiful plants and flowers, but with a special love for roses. Her rose beds were exquisite and all who saw them were filled with envy at how well her roses grew. Irma also had a wonderful sense of giving that she portrayed through her thoughtfulness and love of others. She helped everyone she could and she did it with kindness and joy. Her beautiful smile lit up the room from the moment she walked in and without regard to the occasion, she brought sunshine and happiness with everything she did. Irma truly enjoyed being around people. She often entertained friends and family and guests in her home and took great pride in making sure they were comfortable and had a remarkable and memorable time while there. Irma had a great passion for travel and was so happy to have been able to do just that. She traveled around the world and saw many spectacular places. The wonderous beauty of our land was something she longed to see. She loved every day she had here on earth and the memories she made while going on her many adventures, were abundant. However, her happiest times were spent with her husband and her children. They warmed her soul and resided in the biggest part of her heart. Irma will forever be remembered for her warm and loving nature and her ability to make everyone feel loved.
Irma is survived by her sons, Kevin Henry DeJean of Buna and David Andrew DeJean of Douglass; grandchildren, Andrew Joseph DeJean and Benjamin Thomas DeJean; great grandchild, Lira DeJean and her loving mother, Lillian Elaine Harris who resides in Wales, England. She is preceded in death by her husband, A.J. DeJean; father, Vivien Benjamin Harris and brother, Colin Harris.
