Heather Ballard-Overturf Obituary

Heather was born in Nacogdoches, the first baby girl for the Ballard Family in many years and the first child of James & Yvonne so it goes without saying, everyone couldn’t wait to get their hands on her and spoil her rotten. She was a beautiful baby with a head full of dark hair. Heather grew up in Woden and attended Woden ISD where she was a gifted athlete. She played basketball, softball and participated in rodeo all throughout her school days. She enjoyed playing tournament softball year round where she made many lifelong friendships and memories. Heather was independent and had a competitive spirit. She loved to laugh and have a good time. She could light up a room with her beautiful smile. She had a unique laugh like her daddy. She lived simply, always in jeans and a t-shirt, she never felt like she needed the finer things in life. She was content with what she had. Her love of family was apparent because you didn’t see them without her or her without them very often. She was a loving daughter, sister, aunt & friend but she found her true purpose when she had Aubrey, Averi & Addisyn. They were her entire world. Her happiest times were when she was surrounded by her girls. She doted on them. They never left her home unless they were meticulously dressed with perfect hair with bows. She made lasting memories with her family at the lake and the beach. She will be remembered for her bright smile, her love for her girls and her family. Her legacy of love will live on in the lives of all those she touched.

She is survived by her husband, Brandon Overturf of Nacogdoches, her children, Aubrey Nicole Stanaland, Averi Francis & Addisyn Faith Greer; mother & step-father, Yvonne & Johnny Mack King of Nacogdoches; grandmother, Thelma Brown of Nacogdoches; brother, James Ray Ballard Jr. & wife, Dr. Kim Schaus of Nacogdoches and brother, Jeffrey Ballard of Dallas; sister, Shelby Hasley & husband, Cris of Woden; stepbrother, Marcus King of Nacogdoches; special aunt Tara Morton and husband Justin of Etoile; as well as many other aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces and other loving family members & friends.

She is preceded in death by her father, James Ray Ballard, her paternal grandmother, Bobbie Ballard, her paternal grandfather, Travis Ballard, and her paternal aunt, Nancy Ballard Shelton. Her maternal cousin, Pam Heard.

Serving as pallbearers will be Brandon Overturf, James Ballard Jr., Jeffrey Ballard, Marcus King, Cris Hasley, Corey Ballard, Tyler Conner, and Lance Taylor.
